the baby’s diapers, bathe it and give it emotional security. We can leave the rest to genetics and fate.

Child Development Article – Stages throughout a Baby’s Life

The first stage is between 0 and 8 months. This is when our child increases its height and weight. Our care has very little to do with the changes of a baby during this stage. By the end of it, a baby is 28-30 inches high and weighs twice as much as at birth. Our children begin to roll, blink, hold objects, coo, gurgle, then babble and after that they begin trying to create sounds like adults do. The final eye color appears at this stage. All of these things are up to nature.

The second stage is between the eighth and twelfth month. During this stage nature has already increased their birth size 1.5 times and their birth weight 3 times. However, environment temperature still affects them. They hands become disproportionately larger than the other body parts and their legs are bowed. Babies already have binocular vision and can see up to 13 to 20 feet away. Their teeth begin to grow. What’s more, babies begin to stand and walk with help.

The third stage is from the first to the third year. Babies can already walk by themselves. They also begin to draw. Another thing is that their questions increase in vocabulary and sophistication. They begin to pick up the alphabet. They motor skills will be increased to a level that will only continue to become better.

Child development article: From this time on, nature has only a supporting role. Parents have the main roles. They have to nurture their child as well as help it in its emotional and social relations. Learning, schooling, reading and speaking are the main thing that shapes a child’s mind.

Child Development Article – How to Understand the Learning Stages for the Development of Pre-reading Skills

Movement, communication and comprehension, together with social skills are the main things that enable us to read with and for meaning. This is something that an infant begins to realize from the very beginning of its life.

Many parents want their children to be as clever as possible and begin teaching them how to read right after they’ve learnt the alphabet. Children become comprehensive of reading at different ages so it is important that you watch your child’s development and not only push it in order to have a jump start at the kindergarten.

Child development article-  As your child grows you should focus on the following guidelines for pre-reading readiness.

The ability to develop language and intellectual abilities comes right after developing proper motor skills. The motor skills are the ones that enable a baby to turn, sit, stand, crawl or walk. If you want your child to begin reading earlier you have to provide enough space for it to develop motor skills. In this way its muscles will strengthen and after that hearing and vision would begin to develop, which will make the baby ready for reading.

You should also provide your child with infant and toddler toys. These are designed to develop reasoning skills such as pushing a button makes a sound. With the increase of their motor abilities babies begin trying to manipulate the world around them. When your baby does manipulative activities it will both develop intellectually and physically.

Language is an ability that develops together with cognitive skills. In order to teach your child to speak you have to speak to it a lot. They will also need guidance on understanding the difference between “in, on, up, down, over, under” and so on. Activities for object identifications should be done all the time. You may ask your child to identify a person, place animal or any other thing.

With the development of cognitive skills your child becomes able to understand more complex and abstract things. For example, if you read to your child often, what you read begins to mean something real to it. What’s more, they may begin pretending to read something you’ve read to them. It may look as if they are really reading but in fact they just repeat what they’ve memorized. This mean their development is very good.

The child begins to learn shapes colors and lines actually mean something. It begins to scribble on paper and knows that when you manipulate an object there is a cause and a result. They also know where a story begins and ends and when pretending to read they read from left to right.

In order to be able to begin reading a child must have developed its motor and cognitive skills up to a certain level. In this way they would be able to understand what they see and that what they do has both a reason to be done and an effect. Children become eager to read by the age of three or four but the best and most common age for beginning to read is the age of five.

This child development article is able to teach you how to treat your child in the best possible way throughout the different stages of its development. Parents have to make it clear for children that reading is not an annoying activity. Parents should present it in a way that would be pleasant to their child and would make the child love reading and being read to. The main key to making your child read and not only read but love to read is to show it you also enjoy and love doing this activity.
